4pm Herbs for Dental Health

Stephaney Allinson All About the Herbs

Private, or semi-private dental treatment is very expensive and, depending on the area you live in, the waiting list for an NHS dentist can be years long, if you can get one at all. Even getting an appointment with an emergency dentist for antibiotics if you have an abscess can be problematic, as a GP generally does not prescribe for dental issues. Herbal medicine is incredibly useful for maintaining mouth health; the common problems such as plaque causing bacteria, bleeding gums, gingivitis, bad breath, mouth ulcers and abscesses, and more serious problems such as receding gums and periodontitis can all be reduced or entirely avoided with herbal medicine. Just to be clear I am not, in any way, saying that herbal medicine is a replacement for going to the dentist; we're herbalists, we can't pull a tooth out or replace a filling. What herbs can do is reduce dental problems and therefore dental visits, by keeping the mouth healthy and maintaining the integrity of the structure and tissues within it.
